Leftover is a budgeting app that runs entirely on your own device. It has no user accounts, no server storing your information, and no analytics.
Leftover is made and operated by Nikola Božilović, an individual developer based in Serbia, who is the data controller for the purposes of the Serbian Personal Data Protection Act and the GDPR. Contact: thelightprocess1@gmail.com.
The short version: your income, expenses, categories and transaction history never leave your device. We cannot see them, because they are never sent to us.
Everything you type into Leftover — amounts, categories, scheduled payments, transaction history, your chosen language and currency — is saved locally in your browser's storage on the device you are using. This data:
You can export a copy at any time using "Download backup", which saves a file directly to your device. That file is yours; the app does not upload it anywhere.
If you enter an expense in a currency other than your chosen one, Leftover requests current mid-market exchange rates from a public rates service (open.er-api.com, falling back to api.frankfurter.dev). That request contains only currency codes — for example "USD" — in order to retrieve a rate table.
No amount, description, category, balance or identifier of any kind is included in that request. The conversion itself happens on your device after the rates arrive. Rates are cached locally so the app keeps working offline.
As with any internet request, the rates provider will see the IP address your device connects from. This is unavoidable for any app that fetches live data and is the same information any website you visit receives. If you never enter a foreign-currency expense, the app never contacts that service.
Leftover is free. There is one optional in-app purchase — a supporter contribution that unlocks the dark theme.
If you choose to buy it, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play. Your card details are given to Google, never to this app and never to us. We cannot see your payment method, your name or your billing address.
Google provides us with anonymised sales reporting — order identifiers, amounts, dates and the buyer's country — as it does for every developer on the platform. We use this only to know that a purchase occurred. Your use of the purchase within the app is recorded on your own device as a single yes/no flag, with nothing else attached to it.
Google's handling of your payment is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Leftover is a general-purpose budgeting tool and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct and delete your personal data. In Leftover, you already hold all of it directly: you can view, edit, export and delete everything from within the app itself, without asking anyone. There is no copy held elsewhere for us to return or erase.
This policy is governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you keep the rights given to you by the GDPR, and you may complain to your national data protection authority. In Serbia, that authority is the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection.
If the app ever begins collecting information, this page will be updated before that change ships, and the date at the top will change.
